Wirral Egg Run – New website

Welcome to the new Wirral Egg Run website.

We’ve developed a new, simpler website to allow you to find out all of the important details about the Egg Run.  You can access the key information from the navigation menu, at the top of the page.

Undoubtedly, the most important part of the site is the ‘Donate now‘ link, accessible via the navigation menu.  Why not give it a whirl now? :-)

The new website will be regularly updated with content, accessible via the ‘Latest News’ link on the navigation menu.  Content won’t be limited to just news about the Egg Run, but it’ll certainly be bike related, so be sure to visit regularly.  You can share the new site on Facebook, by clicking the ‘Like’ button towards the top right of this page.

Wirral Egg Run 2013 cancelled due to extenuating circumstances

Organisers of the Wirral Egg Run regret to announce that the 2013 event has sadly had to be cancelled.

Despite a generous and much appreciated donation from United Utilities, sufficient funding cannot be guaranteed from other sponsors to meet the total cost of running the event safely and professionally. Also, the usual “landing zone” for thousands of motorbikes at Clatterbridge Hospital is not available due to construction work due to take place at the site.  The Trustees and members of the Wirral Egg Run Committee fully understand and support Wirral University Teaching Hospital’s decision to go ahead with upgrading their site and accept that the improvements have to take priority over the Egg Run.

We have discussed other options for different versions of the run but with only seven weeks to plan such a major change, it is simply not feasible.  We would strongly ask our fantastic supporters to please act responsibly and not turn up on March 17.  We would also ask that people do not take eggs to Clatterbridge Hospital on the day as this would cause a major inconvenience to what is, after all, a hospital.

Importantly, however, we would also like to stress that this is very much merely a hiatus for a much-loved event.  Much work is now in progress to ensure the April 6, 2014, Wirral Egg Run returns, bigger and better, and we hope we can rely on everyone’s support to make next year a great success.
